The Caudalie Beauty Elixir has been a big favorite of mine for about a year now. In that time frame, went through one small bottle, are you surprised?
I actually do not use my elixir as much as you may think. I know a lot of people use it for the day-to-day toner but I think it is far too drying for every day use. As the queen of skincare, Caroline Hirons said, don’t over use it. And that is exactly what I did!
I typically only used this during one season: the summer. I need something that is going to refreshen my skin when I feel too oily, waken me up sometimes in the mornings. I also like patting it on pimples that need to cool down due to redness. Side Note–By the way, be careful with spraying it near your eyes. . . you’ll thank me later!
This product is between a toner and serum. It has rosemary, orange blossom, rose, grape, and other ingredients that are built to minimize pores and prepare your skin-which a toner should do.
However, I just find that it has too much alcohol in it for my skin type (which is oily/combo) for everyday use; I do not want my skin to become more oily than it already is.
I do recommend spraying it in your hands, just like Lisa Elridge said, and inhaling it if you’re feeling dizzy or just out of it. I do like using it on long train rides to NYC or when I am on the bus because I tend to get car sick here and there. It has helped me a lot in those ways, which is why I may get another small bottle.
I am not too sure if myself would recommend this product with someone who has dry skin. However, do as you wish. This is one of those products I am just simply iffy about recommending. A lot of people who all different skin types as claimed it worked for them in so many ways. I guess my opinion is slightly a little bit unpopular than many other beauty bloggers. I just think there are far better toners for every day use than this one. But it is is a big favorite of mine during the warmer months (when I need to refresh here and there). Do your research!
