Origins Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser $20 / £18
Sorry for all the depressing product reviews lately. I just wasn’t really ‘feeling’ them.

It’s no big shock that I am not a big fan of Origins. I tried about 6 products from them, and I either thought it was okay or disliked it. I already made a post here about my experience with Origins Drink Up Mask and Origins Out of Trouble mask, here. I have also tried two other products from them that I am not too pleased with either. I guess my skin just isn’t too fund of this brand- unlike like everyone else. I wanted to share my review on Origins, not to bash their company but to give a second voice on some of their products. I have used each product(s) for 2 months (+), and I think it’s a good time to write how I feel about a few of them. I’d love to hear your thoughts about them and how they’ve worked for you or maybe worked against you.
This cleanser is packaged in a medium but some-what wide sized plastic container. I actually like the packing; it gives a cool blue effect and it’s also clear. When you squeeze it out of the tube it has a gel like feeling and quickly slides all over your face as soon as you apply it; for something that’s so thick, it does run quickly. It has a fresh minty smell to it that I enjoyed smelling each morning before school, work, or just before I started my day. I has a great scent that can truly wake anyone up after applying. The way this cleanser lathers on your face is just incredible. I really felt that this product was doing it’s just at the time because for a 2 months, everything was going fine. I had no break outs, I noticed how well it cleaned my face and removed some white heads. So where did it all go wrong? Well, like I’ve said a few times already, I had a massive break out from my Clairsonic. And being that this was my daily cleanse for AM & PM, I ran to this for help. I noticed that each night that I used this my face didn’t improve at all. In fact it was slowly getting worse and that’s why I ran to the other Origins Products because I thought that they would help me as well- they didn’t.

When I actually looking into this product I realize that it does do one thing and one thing only, it removes excess oils/makeup. It is also filled with many fragrant oils just like the other Origin products. It’s definitely not good for anyone with oily skin because it actually makes your skin dry and dehydrated due to some ingredients found in this product. I guess all that lovely lathering was stripping away the natural oils on my face and by doing that I was lowering my PH levels, which makes my face a target for bacteria. It can also be extremely irritating around the eyes, so if anyone were to use this as a make up remover as well, it’s pointless. The main point about this review is that this cleanser does not help your skin at all, it just makes it worse in the end. Fragrances should not be in any skin care product, the product should not smell good it, should work well for whatever purpose I need it for. Now, I am not saying all the products I used are fragrance-free, but I try not to use products that are filled with fragrant oils. I am very disappointed that Origins put so much fragrances in their products and people really aren’t realizing how much damage it could do to their skin in the long run. I must say, if I didn’t have that break out, I would have thought this would have been a great cleanser. Truth is, in sooner or later my skin would have been in desperate need of help if I kept using it. The last thing I want to do is get dry skin because I used bad products.
I have stopped using all of the products that I bought from Origins. Sadly, I had to throw them all out. I wish they didn’t put so many fragrant oils in their products. This maybe could’ve been a better product.
Any thoughts?
