These two lovely lip products are called the NARS Lip Lacquers ($ | £), in the shades Chelsea Girls on the right, and Baby Doll on the left. Chelsea Girls (my favorite) is more of a warm biege/natural nude color that works well with almost every type of skin tone, and Baby Doll is a very glittery, high pigmented rosy pink. These are not the only shades in the collection, there are about 5 different shades.
NARS never seems to disappoint me and that is why it is my favorite make up brand. When I walked into Sephora in New York City, almost a year ago, these two lip products quickly caught my eye. I truly love natural looking lip products and of course, I picked the two colors that can be used for every day make up.
The lip lacquer’s formulas are mixed between a lipstick and a lip gloss with high pigmentation-they aren’t as sheer as most lip glosses. It comes in a small, trave sized pot that may be annoying to some or not even a big problem to others; to me, it’s not a big deal at all but it may when I get closer to the bottom of it.
When I first applied this to my lip, I noticed that there was a strange smell that is probably the only thing I don’t really like about it. I can’t really pin point what the smell smells like exactly, I just know that I am not too fond of it.
It goes on pretty smoothy, and the texture is a thick and sticky. When I first felt how sticky it was, I thought this was going to be another MAC Lipglass product but once I applied it on my lips, it did not feel sticky at all. I noticed that some days it clinged to dry patches and some days it did not, this may be a problem for some of you. The NARS Lip Lacquer is decently moisturizing but I feel for about $25, it could have been way more nourshing on my lips. It is extremely pigmented and has a intense shine to it, which I like. It lasted a good amount of time which was around 4/5.5 hours.
I find that this packaging does not get dirty like most of the packing made by NARS. It comes with about .14oz of product for $25/£17.50. It is pretty pricey and it is not one of those products that I would really say is worth buying, but you won’t be disappointed if you do.
All together, I really do love this product. Chelsea girls is my go to product whenever I want something that just looks really nude and shinny on my lips.
Have you tried this? Any thoughts?
